The Joint Party Formation Commission
Many Eritreans are by now aware that we
at the Joint Party Formation Commission, initiated by the ELF-RC, are very much
serious with what we have been saying and doing:

at the Joint Party Formation Commission, initiated by the ELF-RC, are very much
serious with what we have been saying and doing:
· That we are determined to reverse the vicious circle of fragmented
existence in the Eritrean opposition politics by establishing a broad-based and
all-inclusive party of like-minds.

That we have the resolve to make a difference in our people’s struggle
for change and democracy in a new Eritrea free of grudges and hate-politics of
yesteryears.
· That we are for change; that we are agents of change – change that
starts within ourselves!!
The vast majority of our people are
yearning for change; they want to see the brutal dictatorship in Eritrea removed within the shortest time
possible. Yet, change cannot be realized without the participation of the
people for change. But in order to mobilize one’s people for change, those in the
opposition must show the way out of inaction and apathy. The way out can be
ushered in by formation of a solid alternative (s) to the ruling clique. That
is exactly what we in the Commission are striving to work out. And we are pleased to make an early
announcement that we are already making concrete achievements in this historic
and ongoing process!! Read

Commission profile and appeal to Eritreans for participation
Dear Eritreans!
The Joint Party Formation Commission would
like to invite you to join us. Your presence and participation in the party
formation process will be an honor to us and a valuable addition to the work
that we would like to accomplish together.
From the outset, we, the members of the Joint
Party Formation Commission, would like to make it clear that we value and
appreciate your tireless effort and your contribution towards the goal of making
Eritrea a democratic nation and alleviating the pervasive suffering of the
Eritrean people. We, too, either individually or as part of a group, have been
working towards the same goal in order to democratize Eritrea, the country we
all love and yearn for. Members of this commission believe that there is
nothing unique about that. What is unique is the approach we have now chosen to
take. As the Eritrean saying goes, “Fifty lemons are a load for one man, but
aroma for fifty”. We believe that more can be accomplished together with you
than we can accomplish by ourselves alone. We have reached this conclusion
after reflecting how effectively and expeditiously we can bring an end to our
people’s misery at the hands of the dictatorial regime, and secure a better and
brighter future together.
